The Grandeur of Jaipur
At the centre of its famed street grid sits the gorgeous City Palace which is home to a variety if museum collections highlighting the rich artistic culture and textile legacy of the region. The city was built in the 18th century and is considered to be the first planned city in the country. The story goes that in 1876, the Prince of Wales visited India on a tour. Since the colour pink was symbolic of hospitality, Maharaja Ram Singh of Jaipur painted the entire city pink. The pink that colours the city makes for a marvellous spectacle to behold.

With regard to fauna, antelopes and jackals are in abundance, but although panthers inhabit the jungles they are not sighted during the day.
