• Get an introduction to the fort history and view the series of magnificent gates that can be used to enter the fort (Akhai Pol, Ganesh Pol, Suraj Pol, Hava Pol),
• Get enamoured by the colourful and loud Dushera Chowk and visit the silent Fort Palace Museum that houses artefacts that narrate the story of Jaisalmer.
• Visit the viewpoints for outstanding city and desert views.
• The Fort also houses various Hindu religious institutions that you can visit, including the Jain temple (Shri Chandraprabhuswami Temple), Hindu temple (Laxminarayan Temple), watch the residents practise the fine art of bargaining at the various bazaars and view their colourful streets, catching a glimpse of local life. WHAT TO WEAR: Please dress casually. Wear modest clothing and ensure sufficient sun protection. Also wear comfortable walking shoes.

TOUR NOTES: Please note, the food on the street is delicious but does not meet national or international hygiene standards. Although we only go to very popular places, with good local reputations, these stalls do not cook using bottled water or wash their utensils with it. So eating street food is always risky. If you prefer not to risk it, but still want to see what it’s all about, then at the end of the walk, we can take you to Haldirams where you can try chaats and other popular dishes in safe and hygienic conditions.
