Amidst the glorious greenery of the Kanha National Park, Shergarh was set up to house camping enthusiasts and give them a typical experience of living within nature’s marvels. Jehan, a well-versed naturalist and his English wife Katie have recreated magic in a secluded part of the reserve where guests are enthusiastically encouraged to mingle with nature and the nearby village-folk for an eternal experience.
At first glance itself, visitors are mesmerized by the panoramic view of the camp – six glorious tents protrude from the earth, flanked by a great pond on one side where numerous birds can be sighted, and a eucalyptus plantation completes the scenery. On further investigation, one finds each tent to be minimally but snugly furnished, complete with a separate dressing area, private tiny courtyard with traditional cane furniture and an attached shower room! The hosts take great pleasure in looking after the guests and enhancing their natural encounter by providing exceptional services and creating an informal atmosphere while arranging nature walks through the buffer-zone, jungle bicycle rides and Friday market visits to the proximate hamlets.
