The Majestic Leh Palace

The distinguished 17th century Leh Palace stands tall against the city’s winding lanes and markets. Constructed during the reign of King Sengge Namgyal, the 9 floor structure once housed the royal clan. Today, it remains a notable place of interest visited by travelers from the world over. The Temple of the Guardian Divinities constructed by King Tashi Namgyal is another attraction showcasing the residence of Ladhaki royalty.

Tourism in Leh

The view of Frozen Glassy Peaks en route to the city is a spectacular sight not to be missed. Travelers can visit the War Museum for some fascinating battle relics and the Chamba Temple, Zorawar fort for a taste of Ladhaki history. Designed by the Japanese in the year 1983, Shanti Stupa at Leh is a beautiful landmark as well.

The towering city has a cold desert climate owing to its proximity to the Himalayas. Since heavy snowfall often blocks access routes to the city; mild summers are the best time to visit. The breathtaking sunsets moonrises at Leh are truly a magnificent sight to behold.
