Jaipur’s inhabitants don’t shy away from loud celebrations and Teej is no different. Married women and young girls apply henna, pray to Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati, observe detailed fasts and seek their blessings for the long lives of their husbands. The men in turn pray for a verdant crop. Processions adorn the Pink City and Goddess Teej blesses the cavalry and people that gather to worship her golden palanquin.
