This fort was built just when the fortunes of the kingdom were on a rise and so was the Mogul creativity.

Considered the ultimate seat of power, this fort has been home to a succession of highly successful emperors right from Shah Jahan to Bahadur Shah. A walk through this magnificent complex makes you reminisce the grim battles that may have been fought here include the Siege of Delhi and the taking of the Kashmir Date. 7 years ago, this site was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

WHEN: Every day except Monday. You can select a 2 hour slot as per your convenience between 9AM and 5PM. It is recommended that you avoid the afternoon slots during the summer months.

WHAT TO WEAR: Make sure you bring along adequate sun protection and wear comfortable shoes for the tour.

TOUR NOTES: Please note, the food on the street is delicious but does not meet national or international hygiene standards. Although we only go to very popular places, with good local reputations, these stalls do not cook using bottled water or wash their utensils with it. So eating street food is always risky. If you prefer not to risk it, but still want to see what it’s all about, then at the end of the walk, we can take you to Haldirams where you can try chaats and other popular dishes in safe and hygienic conditions.
