The Three Jewels of The Himalayas
SIKKIM- BHUTAN -NEPAL

Explore the mystique of the Himalayan Kingdom, home to Buddhism, the
lofty of Mount Everest and Kanchenjunga. The Colourful mask dance of
Lamas, gompas, rutuals, temples, their religious fervour and the simple
holistic lifestyle all these add makes this holiday most amazing. A
massive variety of orchids, rhododendron forests, colourful butterflies,
ancient monasteries, perched on high mountain cliffs, monks in the
traditional orange and maroon colourful robes chanting their prayers
with the twirling prayer wheels. A visit to the Himalayas is mystic and
mysterious.

Day 01
Arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel.
Day 02
Breakfast. Full day tour of New and Old Delhi.
Day 03
Transfer to airport for flight to Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel.
Afternoon city tour - Durbar square, temple of Living Goddess, Royal
residential areas, Hanuman Dhoka, Tibetan refugee Centre at Patan on
return visit Swayambhunath Temple. Overnight at hotel.
Day 04
Breakfast. Drive to Pokhara. Transfer to hotel. Late afternoon boat
cruise of Pew Lake watch the sun set on the Machupura Mountains ( fish
Tail).
Day 05
Breakfast. Visit Devin’s fall. Drive to Royal Chitwan National park.
Transfer to Lodge. Full board.
Day 06
Breakfast. Elephant Safari for game view. After canoe ride. Overnight
Lodge on full board.
Day 07
Breakfast. Drive to Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel.
Day 08
Breakfast. Transfer to airport for flight to Paro – Bhutan. Transfer
to hotel.
Paro is the beautiful valley in Bhutan with majestic Mount Chomothai
towering over it ( 23997 ft – 7315 mt). At leisure.
Day 09
Breakfast . Visit Taksang Monastery, the monastery nestles
precariously on a steep 300 feet highside, sang – tog peri monastery,
National Museumg. Drugyet Dzong ( oldest fort in Bhutan).
Day 10
Breakfast. Drive to Thimphu overlooking the valley of river Wangchu.
Transfer to hotel. Visit the main market, the stupa of Late King Jigme
Dorjee Wangchuk, memorial Chorten, Taschicho Dzong or main Secretariat .
Day 11
Breakfast. Drive to Phunsholing via Chhukha, the mid paint between
Jhimpu and Phuntsholing, has become synomymous with the Hydro Electric
Power Project, which shupplies power to Sikkim and West Bengal (
Indian). Transfer to hotel.
A border town with India, Phuntsholing lane developed into a trading
centre and has mix culture of India and Bhutan. With fairly relaxed
atmosphere. Visit the Zangdopelri Monastery with a huge prayer wheel
rotated by electric power.
Day 12
Breakfast. Crossover to the India border town of Jaigaon on the bank
of river Tosar. Exit and entry formalities drive to Kalimpong. Transfer
to hotel. At leisure.
Occupied by the Bhutanase between 1706 to 1865, when Kalimpong along
with the Dooars hill was ceded to British India and developed into an
education centre under the Christian missionaries.
Day 13
Breakfast. Kalimpong ( Fort of the King’s Minister – Kalim King’s
Minister, Pong – Fort is derived from Bhutanse) is a small town is
famous for Scottish Missionary rev Macforlane who establish Scottish
Univeristy Mission Institute ( SUMI) in 1887, Dr. Graham;s Homes 1900 a
self contained school with its own dairy, bakery , Church swimming pool
St, Joseph’s convent 1926 and St. Augustine’s School in 1945.
Day 14
Breakfast. Drive to Gangtok ( 5,500ft.) an upcoming cosmopolitan town
with modern hotels. Transfer to hotel. Visit Enchey Monastery, Ganesh
Tok, Main Market and Research Institute of Tibetology with a well
Stocked library of rare looks books and documents on Buddhism.
Day 15
Breakfast. Full day excursion to rumtek Monastery ( 5500ft.) the
present monastery is built in 1960 by his Holiness Gyalwa Karmapa. The
Old Rumtek Monastery was built in 1730 by the Ninth Karmapa but was
destroyed in a fire, Nehru Botanical Garden, a mixture of well tended
tropical and temperate plants and trees, with a huge green houses
containing many species of orchids. Return to Gangtok.
Day 16
Breakfast. Early morning drive to Pemyanste Monastery nuilt at an
altitude of 7000 ft. is the most important monastery of the Nyingmapa
order built in the late 17th century by Latsun Chembo. The monastery
houses numerous religious idols objects of worship, most of which are
priceless beacause of their antiquity. Rabdanste, which the 2nd Capital
of Sikkim in 17th century is in total ruins. Overnight at hotel.
Day 17
Breakfast. Drive to Darjeeling. Transfer to hotel. At leisure on the
Mall. Situated at an altitude of 7000 ft.. Darjeeling desires its name
from Tibetan ‘ Dorjee ( Thunderbolt) Ling (Place) The Christian
Missionaries established various educational institution in the region.
The First school was established in 1841 by William Start at Takuar Tea
Estate for the children of the Lepcha workers. The first full fledged
English medium school was established in 1846 by an Irish missionary nun
Teresa - Coreto Convent. In 1864 Bishop Cotton established St. Paul’s
School, on of the most prestigious institution outside Britain. St.
Joseph’s College ( more commonly known as North Paul) by establish the
Priests of the Society of Jesus in 1888, and these institution spread
all over India are known to have a very high standard of scholastic
value.
“ World Heritage” legacy of Darjeeling the Toy train” winding from New
Jalpaiguri railway station, the steam locomotive passes through Siliguri
town amidst forests of teak, magnolia , Sal trees with Kanchendzonga
looming above, though Kurseong town to Ghoom at 800 ft. ( highest
railway station in the World ) descending to Darjeeling town through the
amazing Batasia loop a voyages long odyssey of a life time.
Day 18
Breakfast. Visit Chowrasta with a fascinating time line of Tiebtan
handicraft shops, restaurant, dairies and bakeries, under the watchful
gaze of the mighty Kanchendzonga range in the east and rolling hill of
Sikim in the worth. A major attraction of the Chowrastha are the mule
rides. Thereafter visit observatory Hill, passing by St. Andrews Church
built in 1843, step Aside a quaint collage, Bhutia Basti Monastery built
as a branch of Phodang Monastery in Sikkim and built by the Chogyal of
Sikkim. Himalayan Mountaineering Institute built in 1954 following the
historical ascent of Mount Everst by Sherpa Tenzing Norgay and Sir
Edmund Hillary in 1953, Himalayan Zoological Park sheltering rare breeds
of high altitude Himalayan Fauna like black bead, red panda, snow
leopard, tigers and species of colourful Himalayan avian life Lloyd
Botonical garden with a wide rage of flora like chestnut, ash, birch,
magnolia, maple, orchids, azaleas. The Lebong rock Track is the highest
and smallest race course in the World with only a lap of 480 inches.
Day 19
Early morning visit Tiger Hill at an altitude of 8500 feet to watch
the magnificent view of the surprise over the Kanchendzong. Other range
of mountains seen from this point are Talung, Kabru, Pandim and the peak
of Mount Chomohari in Bhutan. If the weather is clear one can even see
Mount Everest and Makalu. On return to the hotel visit Ghoom Monastery
built in 1875 by the Lama Sherpa Gyantso. Later transfer to Bagdogara
airport for flight to Delhi or Kolkatta and connect onward flight for
home
