Exclusive Tours - A LEGEND WITH TEA

A LEGEND WITH TEA
Season : September to April Best November to March
Duration : 07 Days

Tea, a commonly consumed beverage in every nook & corner of urban & rural India, was made popular with the on coming rule of the British East India Company, established from Port Canning in Bengal. Ardent tea drinkers, the British established Tea Plantations, in the region of Dooars in upper Assam, Darjeeling & Siliguri in West Bengal and the Western Ghats .From within vast tea growing belt of India, we have chosen the least traversed area around Peermade, the Tyford Tea estate establised by William Tyford in 1905, the first among the others in Kerala, and is reckoned numero uno for its diversified richness. With a population of about 5000 people, most engaged in various aspects related to the tea estate, from planting, plucking, processing, packaging , Tyford is a total “teadom”. A regular school for the workers’children, other social actvities include temples, churches, play grounds, community hall with welfare centre and full fledged medical establishment and various social festivals, all add up to the flavour of Tyford Tea Estates.
