                      Our Trips - Cultural Tours-The Land of Maharaja’s Forts and Palaces

 

The land of the Forts and Palaces in India is Rajasthan with variation in the nature - from the desert to green fields, and from mountains to plains, all can be seen here. One of the most active state to attract tourists, with lot of activities like camel safari's, horse safari's or just a cultural tour. We have designed a tour covering the lesser known places of Rajasthan that will enable you to stay in those palaces of Rajasthan that have recently been opened to the general public and tourists alike.

Day 01
Arrive Delhi. Transfer to hotel for Overnight

Day 02
Breakfast. Morning tour of New Delhi visiting India Gate ( War Memorial of 2nd World War) drive past Parliament House, Rashtrapati Bhawan ( President ‘s Palace), drive to Humayun ‘s Tomb, Lotus Temple, Qutab Minar.
Lunch halt ( at own expense).
Afternoon tour of Old Delhi visiting Raj Ghat ( Gandhi’ s memorial), Red Fort, drive to Chandni Chowk, Jama Mosque return to hotel en-route visit Birla Temple. Overnight in hotel.

Day 03
 Breakfast. Drive to Mandawa in the Shekhawati region which is highly vibrant culturally.
Check in to hotel. Afternoon tour of the Havelis with their wall paintings, depicting rural life, animals & birds, some of these havelis are over a century old . Overnight in hotel

Day 04
Breakfast . Drive to Bikaner.Chech in to hotel Afternoon visit the 16th Century Fort built by Raja Rai Singh the 6th ruler of Bikaner, the Armoury , Ganga Golden Jubilee Museum.
Evening visit the Cenotaphs at Devi Kund proceed to Camel Breeding Farm ( only one of its kind in Asia). Watch the sun set over the sand dunes. Overnight in hotel

Day 05
 Breakfast. Drive to Jaisalmer. Check in to Hotel. Late afternoon visit Sam Sand Dunes for Camel Ride on the Thar Deserts. Enjoy the spectacular sight of the sun set over the heaps of sand mounds and craters some of which are as deep or high as 15 kms . Overnight in hotel.

Day 06
Breakfast. Morning tour of 12th Fort built in 1156 by Maharawal Jaisal, Jain Temple, Gadisar Tank, Folk Museum .
Afternoon walk through the narrow cobbled streets of the old city visiting ancient mansions called havelis , Patwan Ki Haveli, Salim Singhji Ki Haveli, Diwan Nathmal Ki Haveli, Badal Vilas Palace. Return to hotel for overnight.

Day 07
Breakfast. Drive to Jodhpur en- route Pokaran. Check in to hotel
Afternoon Visit the ruins of the ancient capital of Marwar, set on a plateau are the pillared Hall Of Heroes, Shrine of the 300 million Gods. These ruins are surrounded by the beautifully laid Mandore gardens. Drive to the Old city , walk through Sojati Gate leading to Sadar Bazzar with its ornate tall Clock Tower. Overnight in hotel.

Day 08
Breakfast. Morning tour of Meherangarh Fort built in 1459 by Rao Jodha – visit Jai Pole, Loha Pole, Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Rang Mahal, proceed to Jaswanth Thada,the richly carved cenotaph of Maharaja Jaswanth Singh 11. The building also preserves the genealogy of the rulers of Jodhpur with their life size portraits
Afternoon proceed to Osian , visit the Jain Mahavir Temple, Sati Temple, Surya Temple. Return to hotel for overnight.

Day 09
Breakfast. Drive to Udaipur en-route visit the temples at Ranakpur. Check in to hotel.At leisure. Late afternoon Motor Launch cruise on Lake Pichola, visiting small islands inhabited by endemic and migratory birds, Gangaur Ghat, a brief halt at Jag Mandir Palace to watch the sun set and the return of the numerous birds to their habitation. Overnight at the hotel

Day 10
Breakfast. Morning City tour visiting City Palace, Museum, Jagdish Temple, Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandir, Sahelion –ki-Bari, Pratap Smarak, Sajjan Niwas Garden, drive past Lake Fatehsagar. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in hotel

Day 11
Breakfast; Drive to the Pink City of Jaipur famous for the many palaces & impregnable forts. Check in to hotel
Afternoon City tour visiting City Palace and Museum, Observatory, Palace Of Winds, Albert Hall Museum, Johari Bazzar. Overnight in hotel

Day 12
Breakfast. Morning excursion to Amber Fort including an elephant ride up the ramparts to the Fort. On return visit Ram Niwas Garden.
Rest of the day at leisure to visit the world famous gem shops at Johari Bazzar, handicraft shops at M.I.Road etc. Return to hotel for overnight

Day 13
Breakfast. Drive to Agra en-route visit Fatehpur Sikri & Tomb of Salim Chisti. Check in to hotel. Afternoon tour of Agra Fort. Return to hotel for overnight.

Day 14
 Breakfast. Visit the Taj Mahal at leisure to enjoy this magnificent tomb of Emperor Shah Jejan’s beloved queen Empress Mumtaz Mahal. Late afternoon drive to Delhi airport to connect onward flight to return home
