On arrival Trip To India representative will meet and transfer to hotel.
Overnight at hotel.

Following day proceed for a guided tour of Bangalore city.
The journey starts from Bangalore, the justified capital of Karnataka. The city has modernized with its ethnicity well preserved. The architectural brilliance of British has embellished the city with charm. Your day starts at Taj west end where you will be given brief presentation about the Golden Chariot and your journey, followed by cultural dance. And after the enchanting cultural performances you will leave for darshan in ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) after which you will head towards the Golden Chariot. As you enter Yeshwanthpur railway station, the Golden Chariot team will warmly welcome you aboard.

  • 3:00 PM: You will check-in Taj West End. Please note the registration and related cost is to be borne by you.
  • 4:00 PM: Soothing stroll in the Taj garden.
  • 5:00 PM: Tea and refreshments
  • 5:30 PM: There will be an orientation about The Golden Chariot and your journey
  • 6:00 PM: Performance of cultural dance
  • 7:45 PM: Krishna darshan in ISKCON
  • 8:15 PM: The Golden Chariot will graciously welcome you at Yeshwanthpur railway station.

Formerly known as Madras, Chennai is a city that comes with a history going back 369 years. Considered to be the 6th largest city in India and the capital of the State of Tamil Nadu, it offers a vibrant local culture along with an impressive art scene. In addition to having a fabulously established IT sector, it is also among the most preferred medical tourism destinations in the country.

Activities

On your second day of the trip, after the breakfast aboard in Chennai, you will leave for Mamallapuram. Here Krishna's Butter Ball (A naturally formed rock along the hill-side, breaking the law of physics), Arjuna's Penance with beautiful carvings, Ganesha Temple, Caves and Five Rathas temple will be visited. After the break and having lunch, you will go for sightseeing and darshan in Shore Shiva Temple and straight from here you will reach Puducherry station where the Golden Chariot awaits you for the dinner and over-night stay.

  • 30 AM: Arrival at Chennai central railway station
  • 8:00 AM: Breakfast will be served
  • 10:00 AM: leave by road for Mamallapuram
  • 11:30 AM: Sight-seeing in Krishna's Butter Ball, Arjuna's Penance, Ganesha Temple, Caves, Five Rathas Temple
  • 1:30 PM: Lunch will be served in Blue Temple Bay Hotel
  • 4:00 PM: Sightseeing in Shore Shiva Temple after tea and refreshments
  • 5:00 PM: Departure to Puducherry station where Golden Chariot awaits you for your over-night stay

 

Pondicherry (1 night)

Pondicherry or Pondy is an attractive South Indian city that is a world renowned holiday locale. Also known as Puducherry; the city houses a number of majestic structures, cathedrals and avenues designed with French architecture that have maintained their colonial character. Exciting travel experiences await tourists in the charming Pondicherry with the exotic bazaars of Poduke and some serene city beaches.

Activities

On the third day you will visit Puducherry; where the culture of French and South India merge to create something adorable. The day Starts from the Auroville Ashram with the iconic Matra Mandri; it is a huge complex with lush greenery, workshops and what not! You will need rest after this affair and then follows the visit to Ganesha temple and Aurobindo Ashram.

  • 8:00 AM: Breakfast will be served
  • 10:00 AM: Leave for sightseeing in Auroville Ashram where you can have darshan at Matra Mandri, attend the documentary screening and/or shop
  • 1:30 PM: Lunch will be served Sarovar Promenade Hotel
  • 3:00 PM: Back to the Golden Chariot
  • 5:00 PM: Visit Ganesha temple and Aurobindo Ashram
  • 7:00 PM: Back to the Golden Chariot and the dinner will be served

Tiruchirappalli or Trichy as it is popularly known is situated on the banks of Cauvery River. It is one of the fourth largest cities in the state of Tamil Nadu and reminds us of our rich tradition and culture. The city was ruled by the Cholas in the ancient period.

Activities

In day 4, the train arrives at Tanjavur railway station, from where the passengers leave for Brihadeshwara Temple (World Heritage Site) and shopping in the emporium. Soon you will leave for Sri Rangam Temple in Trichy. The Chariot will be waiting for you to board it, in Trichy station.

  • 7:30 AM: Arrival at Tanjavur railway station
  • 8:00 AM: Breakfast will be served
  • 10:00 AM: Darshan at Brihadeshwara Temple (World Heritage Site) and shopping in the emporium
  • 2:00 PM: Lunch will be served at Ideal River View Resort
  • 4:00 PM: Departure to Trichy by road, straight from the resort
  • 6:00 PM: Darshan at Sri Rangam Temple in Trichy
  • 7:30 PM: Back to the chariot in Trichy station followed by dinner

 

Madurai (1 night)

Madurai is crowning glory of southern India located in the state of Tamil Nadu. Travelers can look forward to a host of intriguing travel experiences in the 2500 year old city that offers everything from Shiva temples to theme parks. Dubbed as the ‘Thoonga Nagaram’ or the ‘City that Never Sleeps’ in popular culture; Madurai is known to have an electric nightlife. The entire city is said to be built around the revered Meenakshi Amman Temple that was completed in 1655 CE.

Activities

This would be the fifth day of the journey when you will visit Madurai; one of the oldest settlement of the country. There is a whole new contrast of old world charm and modernization in Madurai. Starting with the breakfast on board, you will leave for Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, 1000 pillars and museum. And for the lunch and relaxation, you will hop back to the Chariot and then leave for Gandhi museum. In the evening the enchanting light and sound show at Thirumalai Nayak Palace will be savored. After the dinner will be served at night in the Golden Chariot, the train will leave for Kanyakumari.

  • 8:00 AM: Breakfast will be served
  • 10:00 AM: Darshan at the Madurai Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple
  • 11:30 AM: Visit 1000 pillars temple and museum
  • 1:00 PM: Back to the chariot followed by lunch
  • 3:00 PM: Visit to the Gandhi museum
  • 4:00 PM: Back to the chariot and savor the rejuvenating coach of the Golden Chariot
  • 6:00 PM: Leave for the Thirumalai Nayak Palace's mesmerizing sound and light show
  • 7:30 PM: Back aboard and have scrumptious dinner as the train leaves for Kanyakumari

 

Kovalam (1 night)

The charismatic beach town of Kovalam beckons to tourists visiting Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. The travel hub that is situated on the banks of the Arabian Sea is characterized by a spate of coconut trees. It gets its name from the signature coconut groves that loosely translate to mean Kovalam. The Regents of Travancore in 1920 played a big part in making the quaint fishing village become known as the fabulous beach town it is today.

Activities

Reaching the southernmost point of India, Kanyakumari, early risers can sit back and enjoy the tranquil sunrise view. After the breakfast being served you will visit Padmanabhapuram palace, former kingdom of Travancore. Just when you will hop back to the chariot and have lunch, the train will leave for Kochuveli station, from where passengers will leave for Vivanta by Taj. In Vevanta, tea and refreshments will be served, followed by cultural dance performance. Coming back aboard, the train will leave for Kochi.

  • 5:00 Am: Early risers can enjoy the ever-adored sunrise view of Kanyakumari
  • 7:30 Am: Back to the chariot as the breakfast gets served
  • 9:30 Am: Visit the Padmanabhapuram Palace
  • 1:00 Pm: Back to the chariot as the lunch gets served
  • 3:30 Pm: The Train reaches Kochuveli station
  • 4:00 Pm: Passengers leave for Vivanta in Kovalam. Tea and refreshments will be served in the beach followed by cultural dance and dinner at the hotel
  • 10:00 Pm: Back to the Chariot and soon the train leaves for Kochi

 

Kochi (Cochin) (1 night)

The diverse city of Kochi that is an urban jungle but yet has pockets of local culture is a cosmopolitan city to visit in Kerala. A place of financial importance as it houses one of the largest commercial ports of India, the city with its embracing nature and sense of familiarity.

Activities

Today in the morning after breakfast passengers will leave for Punnamada lake resort in the beautiful house boats, cruising in Punnamada Lake. In the resort they will eat lunch and continue with their journey towards Kochi area. In the evening they will leave for Ernakulum railway station where the train awaits for departure to Bangalore.

  • 8:00 Am: The breakfast will be served
  • 10:00 Am: Passengers leave for Allepey jetty and get aboard a houseboat cruising in Pannamada Lake
  • 1:00 Pm: Reach the Punnamada Lake resort where the lunch will be served
  • 2:30 Pm: The passengers leave for Kochi Fort
  • 3:30 Pm: Passengers reach Kochi Fort where they will visit the Chinese fishing net area and can shop in Mattancherry or Jews Town
  • 6:00 Pm: Passengers leave Kochi area for Ernakulum South railway station where the Golden Chariot awaits to depart for Bangalore

Activities

This will be the last day of the journey. Passengers will be given farewell by the Golden Chariot team after lunch. Hence the journey comes to an end.

  • 10:00 Am: The train reaches Bangalore and passengers will receive a warm farewell by the Golden Chariot team
