Kingdom (Tibet – the hidden Shangri-La)

This tour can be taken as an extension to the India Nepal Exotica tour
or independently ex Kathmandu.. Tibet’s turbulent history, religious
fervour and wild mountain scenery are just a few things that draw
travelers to this fascinating country – “The Roof of the World”. The
natural beauty of Tibet includes the world’s highest Himalayan peaks
raised against deep blue skies, large clear lakes in startling colours,
grasslands dotted with hundreds of Yaks, the huge Kham forests and the
vast windswept plateaus crossed by nomads on horse back. Mingle with
chanting monks stooped in prayers, prostrating Buddhist devout
circumambulating on the belly with the prayer wheel in their hand. There
is only one drawback in visiting Tibet – once you have been there, the
rest of the world seems a “step down”.
Extension to India Nepal Exotica tour
Day 01
In Kathmandu. Breakfast. Briefing of Tibet tour. Overnight at the
hotel.
The Tibet tour includes all local sightseeing tours including
accommodation on full board. The tour is conducted by the China Tourist
Board. Client’s movements are strictly restricted by regulations.
Day 02
Early breakfst. Proceed to Nepal – China boarder. Friendship Bridge
at Kodai. Entry formalities, thereafter proceed to Zangmu ( 122 kms)
altitude 2500 mts. Enroute halt for lunch. Dinner and overnight at the
hotel.
Day 03
Breakfast proceed to Zegan ( 250 kms) altitude 4350 mts. Enroue halt
for lunch. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 04
Breakfast. Proceed to Zigaste ( 290 kms) altitude 3960 mts. Enroute
halt for lunch. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 05
Breakfast. Proceed to Gyantse ( 90 km) altitude 3950 mts. Transfer to
hotel. Lunch, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 06
Breakfst. Proceed to Lhasa ( 260 kms) altitude 3620 mts. Enroute halt
for lunch. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 07
The next two days are in Lhasa with local sightseeing tours
including Potala Palace, Drepung
Monastery, red Palace, Exhibition hall, Norbulinka, Jokhang Temple,
Barkhor Bazzar. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 08
Breakfast. Transfer to airport for flight to Kathmandu. Transfer to
hotel for overnight.
Day 09
Transfer to airport for
onward flight.
