Kerala, “ Gods Own Country” as the natives refer to their home land,
with verdant jungles, aquamarine lagoons, lusty paddy fields, emerald
backwaters, nestled deep within its pristine landscape, every moment
becomes a unparalleled sensual experience. Inhale the fragrance of
freshly ground spices, listen to the chant of oarsmen , rhythmically
roaring past in sleek snake boat. Catch the royal Indian Tiger lazily
lashing in the evening sun, the distant trumpets of the tuskers and
elephants, exotic birds and butterflies. Thrissur, the cultural capital
of Kerala, is noted for Kerala Kalamandalam, perhaps the only
institution where all the disciplines of classical dances, Kathakali,
Mohiniyattam, Thullal, Bharatnatyam, Koodiyattam, Kuchipudi and Kathak
are taught under one roof. Visit the Vadakkumnathan Temple, home to
Pooram Festival. Calicut, the capital of the mighty Zamorine rulers, an
important port town where Vasco Da Gama landed in 1498, later the
European mercenaries from Holland, France and Bhutan established trade
links. Sultan Battery, bordering the state of Karnataka was formerly
known as Ganapathivattom ( field of Lord Ganesh), however the present
name is derived from the Fort built by Tippu Sultan of Mysore in the
18th century. Savour the culture and end your holiday relaxing on
Kovalam beach.

Day 01
Arrive Mumbai and Transfer to hotel.
Day 02
Breakfast. Morning motor launch excursion to Elephanta Cave Island
from Gateway of India Pier. Afternoon visit Prince of Wales Museum, Mani
Bhawan, Hanging Garden, Kamla Nehru Park, Mahalaxmi Temple, Crawford
Market and Victoria Terminus.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 03
Breakfast. Transfer to airport for flight to Mangalore. Afternoon
visit Kadri Temple, Pandava’s Cave, National art Gallery, St. Aloysius
Capel, Old light house.
Day 04
Breakfast. Day trip to Ullal and Parambur beaches.
Day 05
Breakfast. Drive to Kannur ( Cannanore) enroute visit the 17th
Century Fort at Kasargod and Madiyan Kulam temple at Hosdurg. Arrive
Cannanore check-in at the hotel.
A town of great historical importance and capital of North Kolathiri
Rajas for many centuries, it came to limelight on 15th century with the
arrival of Vasco Da Gama. Marco Polo referred to as the greatest Emporia
of spice trade.
Day 06
Breakfast. Visit St. Angelo Fort built in 1505, it was the most
important military bastion of Malabar coast, Parassimi Kadavu Temple.
This is the only temple where the ancient discipline of folk dance “
Theyyam”is performed daily at the time of pooja, Snake Park with a large
habitation of King Cobras.
Day 07
Breakfast. Drive to Sultan Battery enroute visit Ezhimala with an old
burial chamber in a cave, ancient sculptured pillar. The area is known
for medicinal herbs. Check-in to hotel in Sulthan Battery.
Day 08
Breakfast. Originally known as Ganapathivattom, the present name is
derived for the 18th century fort built by the ruler of Mysore Tippu
Sultan, Chelhalayam Water Fall, Edakkal caves of the Neo Stone age
Civilization and famous world wide for Anthropologist as one of the
earliest centre of human habitat, however one has to trek for one
kilometer to explore the caves. Overnight at hotel.
Day 09
Breakfast. Drive to Kozhikode ( Calicut) enroute visit Mahe
established as a trading centre by the French in 17th century. It is
only a 9 km twon under administrative authority of the Union Territory
of Pondicherry. Visit St. Theresa’s Church a superb reflection of French
architecture. Check-in at the hotel. Calicut was an important port town
in the 15th & 18th centuries under the Portuguese, Dutch, French and
British traders. Today it is a centre of timber industry. Afternoon
visit Pazhaasi raja Museum, Art Gallery with paintings of Raja Raja
Varma and raja Ravi Varma, Lokanarkavu Temple where the Pooram Festival
is celebrate in April / May, boat building yard at Beypore, which is
also a major fishing harbour. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10
Breakfast. Drive to Palghat ( Palakkad) which lies at the foot of the
Western Ghats bordering Tamil Nadu. This is the granary centre of Kerala
wsith its forests and valleys rich in flora and fauna. Afternoon visit
1766 AD Fort built by Hyder Ali of Mysore, Kalpathi Temple. Overnight at
hotel.
Day 11
Breakfast. Drive to Trichur ( Thrissur) is the cultural capital of
kerala. From ancient time, the district has palyed a signifienct role in
the political history of South India. Formerly capital of Zamorin
rulers, later by Tipu Sultan of mysore in 18th century in subsequent
centuries it was under Portuguese, Dutch, and British strong hold. The
famous Pooram Festival is held at the vadakkumnathan Temple in April /
May. Afternoon visit the Archeological Museum, art Museum, Zoo, town
Hall.
Day 12
Breakfast. Visit Vadakkumnathan Temple the most ancient temple in
Kerala. Pooram festival is held in April / May where the images of
deities from 41 neighbouring Temples are brought in procession on
caparisoned elephants accompanied by drummers musician with display of
fire work.
Day 13
Breakfast. Drive to Kochin ( Cochin) Check-in to hotel. After visit
Matancherry – Paradasi jewish Synagogue , Dutch palace, Koonan Kurishu
Shire. Evening watch a Kathakali dance performance.
Day 14
Breakfast. Visit Fort Cochin, St. Francis Church Basilica of Santa
Cruz, Dutch Cemetery, Chinese fishing Nets at Cochin Harbour. Evening
boat cruise on harbour to watch the sunset.
Day 15
Breakfast. Drive to Kottayam. Check-in at the hotel. Later visit
Thirunakkara Shiva Temple, St. Mary’s Church at Valiapally and
Cheriyappally.
Day 16
Breakfast. Drive to periyar Wildlife Sanctuary at Thekkady. Check-in
at the hotel. Afternoon boat cruise on the lake to watch captivating
assortment of fauna at very close quarters.
Day 17
At Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in Thekkady Game viewing.
Day 18
Breakfast. Drive to Alleppey. Centre of the backwater cruises in
Kerala, Alleppey has a large network of canals and one of the most
scenic cities in Kerala. Visit Arthunkal with the Church of St. Andrews
and St.Sebastian an important pilgrimage centre for the Christain
community .
Day 19
Breakfast drive to Kollam ( Quilon). An ideal sea port town on the
banks of Ashtamudi Lake, Quillon has maintained a commercial reputation
from ancient times with its trade links with Phoenicians, Persian,
Arabs, Greeks, Roman, Chinese. Later established links with Portuguese,
Dutch and British. This is the gateway point to the magnificent
backwater of Kerala. Afternoon visit Thangassery 18th century Churches.
Day 20
Breakfast. Drive to Kovalam Beach. At leisure.
Day 21
Kovalam at leisure.
Day 22
Day excursion to the Southern most tip of India. The Confluence of
Indian ocean, Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. On a full moon evening one
can watch the sun set and moonrise simultaneously. The city is connected
with the great Indian philosopher Swami Vevekananda. Visit the temple of
Parasakthi Vivekananda Rock.
Day 23
Breakfast. Drive to Trivandrum. Check-in at the hotel. Afternoon
visit Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple, Napier Museum, Sree Chithra Art
Gallery, Kuthiramalika Temple at Thampanoor.
Day 24
Transfer to airport for
onward flight.
