1. Pooram festival – End April / May
Held in Thrissr – A spectacular Temple festival with hundred of caparisoned elephants accompanied by music , drummers and fireworks. Refer section under fairs and festival for a 12 days holiday. Exact dates on request.

2. Onam Festival – August / September
Kerala’s most important festival celebrating the new harvest and New Year. Highlight of the festival is the Nehru boat race with hundreds of Snake boats and their crew race down the back waters at Alleppy, Champakulam, Aranmula and Kottayam. Homes are decorated, floors bear the rangoli designs ( dry colour powders), every household is busy with their feasts and exchanging greetings.

3. Ayurvedic treatment and rejuvenation of the mind, body and soul, “ Dinacharya” The art of Ayurvedic treatment had existed as a family secret for many thousands of years, which is now been given a world exposure. a) Pooram Festival

Day 01
Arrive Cochin transfer to Thrissur. The Cultural Capital with a rich history, culture and archeological ruins. Between 9th and 12th Century was ruled by Kulasekharas of Mahodayapuram, from 12th to 14th century is the rise and growth of Perumpadappu Swarupam, from 14th to 15th century the rich Zamorins of Calicut. Subsequently the European pourers of the Portugese, Dutch and English dominated the scene. In 1790 Raja Rama Varma ascended the throne of Cochin’s princely state and was the architect of present day Trichur Town.

Visit Vadakkumnathan Temple to watch the Celebration of Pooram Festival.

Day 02
Breakfast. Visit the celebration of Pooram festival watch the procession of Caparisoned elephants , Musicians, drum men. Evening watch firework display.

Day 03
Breakfast. Drive to Cochin. Transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit Mattancherry, Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace. Evening Kathakali Dance show.

Day 04
Breakfast. Visit Fort Cochin, Church of St. Francis Baslica of Santa Cruz and Chinese Fishing net.
Evening boat cruise on harbour.

Day 05
Transfer to Cochin Airport for onward flight

b) ONAM

Duration : 7 days

Day 01
Arrive Kochi. Transfer to Alleppery. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02
Breakfast. With a large network of canals, Alleppey is the centre for backwater cruises in Kerala, and one of world’s major supplier of Coir. The Nehru Trophy Boat Race is colourful and spectacular show with numerous snake boats participating in the race, a rhythmic feat which only the trained oarsmen can perform. Spend the day at the back water and cheer the participants.

Day 03
Breakfast. Boat cruise to Pathiramanal Island on Vembanad lake to watch the numerous species of bird and butterflies. Later driver to Ambalapuza famous for the Temple of Sree Krishna ( and the milk porridge “ Palpayasam” offered to the deity at the Shine), Karumadikkuttan with the 11th Century Buddhist Temple.

Day 04
Breakfast. Drive to Kottayam. Visit Thirunakkara Shiva temple with the best traditional Temple Amphitheatre “ Koothambalam” in Kerala. Later visit St. Mary’s Church at Valiapally and Cheriyally in 1515 Am with a Persian Cross and biblical murals. Later visit St. Josephs Monastery at Mannanam one of most important Christian pilgrimage centre in Kerala with the mortal remains of Re. Fr. Kuriakose Elias of Chavara who lived there between 1805 to 1871. Thereafter drive to Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary on the eastern banks of Vembanad. Overnight at hotel.

Day 05
At leisure in Kumarakom with boat cruise to explore the surroundings.

Day 06
Drive to Cochin. After tour of Mattancherry – Jewish Paradeso Synagogue, Dutch Palace, Koonan Kurishu Chapal with the Holly Cross. Evening watch a Kathakali dance performance.

Day 07
Transfer to airport for onward flight.


c) Ayurvedic Treatment


Duration : 04 Days

Day 01
Arrive Trivandrum. Transfer to Somatheeram Ayurvedic Beach resort. An Ideal rejuvanation centre for mind body and soul, the natural location of the resort affords facilities for safe sea bathing with the rocky promontory jilting into the Arabian Sea, the waves are gentle even in the roughest of weather and make surfing a pleasure. Treat yourself to the luxury of the inhouse Yoga, Ayurveda and Spa facilities.

Day 02
Ar Leisure at the resort to unpung yourself and surrender to the ancient technique of rejuvenative and curative programmes of herbal massages, oil baths, medicated steam bath along with a body cleansing herbal food diet. Come start life, A new , in the beaches of Kovalam.

Day 03
Drive to Trivandrum. Visit Padmanabha Swamy Temple, Napier Museum, Sree Shithra Art Gallery.

Day 04
Transfer to Trivandrum airport for onward flight.
