The Indian Tiger Trail

Ranthambore National Park is situated at the junction of the Aravali and
Vindhya mountain ranges and is named after the around 1000-year-old
fort, which stands within the sanctuary.
Area : 392 sq. km
Main wildlife: Tiger, Panther, Hyaena, Jackal, Cat, Civet, Sambar,
Chital, Nilgai, and Partridge. An artificial lake attracts a number of
water birds. Game viewing can only be done by open top vehicles and
jeeps.
Keladeo Ghana National Park, formerly known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
owing to its location near the town of Bharatpur. It is renowned all
over the world as one of the finest heronries and home of rare water
birds migrating between December and March when the Siberian cranes
arrives in flocks. The park is formed around a fresh water shallow marsh
surrounded by scrubs and thorns. The breeding season produces some
30,000 chicks from almost 12,000 nests. Vehicles are not allowed inside
the park. Bird watching is done in Cycle rickshaw and boats.
Area : 28 sq. km.
Main wildlife : Sloth bear, Sambar, Panther, Nilgai, Wild Boar, Stork,
Painted Stork, White Ibis, Spoon Hill, Grey Heron, Crane, Cromorant,
Rosy Pelican, Dalmatian Pelican.
Kanha National Park comes under project Tiger and is renowned for the
conservation of swamp deer whose population has steadily increased since
1960. The surrounding forests have beautiful scenery with meadows,
plateaus and bamboo bushes. Both jeep and elephant safaris are possible.
There is no better and exciting way to follow the Tiger’s trail than on
an Elephant back.

Main wildlife: Tiger, Panther, Gaur, Barasingha, Chital, Sambar, Black
Buck, Barking Deer, Mouse Deer, Nilgai, Wild Dog, Boar.
Bandhavgarh National Park - Steep cliffs, and a skyline dominated by a
2000 year old fort, gives the park its unique dramatic splendour. The
forest and the adjacent hills have a large number of caves belonging to
the pre-historic period. Bandhavgarh also has its place in Indian epic
of Ramayana, and the architects of the fort are said to be monkeys and
Lord Hanuman who also built the bridge between Indian mainland and Sri
Lanka when Lord Ram went to fight the demon King Ravana. The ramparts of
the fort offer panoramic view of the surrounding jungles and its
wildlife.
Because of its near seclusion and profuse availability of water, the
wildlife here is excellent. The famous white Tigers of Rewa are also
found in Bandhavgarh and Kanha.

Main wildlife: White Tiger, Panther, Gaur, Chital, Sambar, Nilgai,
Chinkara, Barking Deer, large Racket Tailed Drongos, Paradise Fly
Catcher, Steppe Eagle, Blue Bearded Bee Eaters.

Day 01
01 Arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel. Afternoon tour of New
Delhi.
Day 02
Breakfast. Transfer to airport for flight to Jaipur.
Afternoon tour of city visiting Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Museum,
Observatory, Albert Hall. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03
Drive to Sawai Madhopur and check-in at the hotel. Afternoon
game viewing. Overnight at hotel.
Day 04
Morning & afternoon game viewing. Overnight at hotel.
Day 05
Morning & afternoon game viewing. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 06
Early wake-up call. Transfer to Sawai Madhopur Railway
station for train to Bharatpur. On arrival transfer to hotel. Later bird
watching on cycle rickshaw as vehicles are not permitted within Keoladeo
Ghana Bird Sanctuary.
Day 07
Drive to Agra and visit Taj Mahal & Agra Fort. Late afternoon
transfer to railway station for train to Jabalpur. Overnight on board
the train.
Day 08
Arrive Jabalpur early morning.. Drive to Kanha national Park
and check-in at resort.
Rest of the day free. Overnight at resort.
Day 09
Morning and afternoon game viewing. Overnight at resort.
Day 10
Morning and afternoon game viewing. Overnight at resort.
Day 11
Early breakfast. Drive to Bandhavgarh National Park and
check-in at resort. Afternoon game viewing. Overnight at resort.
Day 12
Morning and afternoon game viewing. Overnight at resort.
Day 13
Morning & afternoon game viewing. Afternoon drive to
Khajurhao and check-in at hotel.
Day 14
Morning tour of Chandela Temples. Later transfer to airport
for flight to Delhi. On arrival transfer to hotel.
Day 15
Transfer to airport for onward flight.
Optional Extension to Corbett National Park
Corbett National Park and Tiger Project Named after the famous hunter
and naturalist Jim Corbett, the park is situated at the foot hills of
the Shiwalik ranges. Ramganga, a tributary of River Ganges flows through
the park and forms a number of pools to attract several species of
birds.
Area : 520 sq. km
Main wildlife: Tiger, Elephant, Panther, Sloth Bear, Nilgai, Sambar,
Chital, Wild Boar, Porcupine, Four – Horned Antelope.
Day 16
Drive to Corbett National Park and on arrival check-in at
hotel. Afternoon game viewing.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 17
Morning and afternoon game viewing. Overnight at hotel.
Day 18
Morning game viewing. Afternoon drive back to Delhi airport
and connect flight for onward journey.
