Footstep of Buddha
A religion of wisdom, compassion, peace and reason that believes in
Universal Truth, equating all life forms on the earth, Buddhism was
started in the 4th century BC and spread to many countries by disciples
of Gautam Buddha, the founder. From Lumbini where Buddha was born, to
Bodh Gaya where he attained enlightenment and Sarnath where he delivered
his first discourse, this package covers all these important milestones
in his life.

Day 01
Arrive Delhi. Met by Indian Calling Representative and
transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02
Breakfast. Morning tour of New Delhi – creation of British
architect Sir Edwin Lytens, visit India Gate, Parliament House,
President’s Palace thereafter proceed to Humayun’s Tomb, Lotus Temple,
Qutab Minar.
Afternoon tour of the walled city of Shahjahanabad visitng Raj Ghat, Red
Fort, proceed to Chandini Chowk, Jama Masjid return to hotel enroute
visit Birla Temple.
Evening a cultural show of classical dance of India followed by a
gourmet dinner at a specialty Indian Restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03
Early wake-up. Transfer to New Delhi railway station for
train to Lucknow. Breakfast on board. . Transfer to hotel. Afternoon
visit Bara Imambara, Chota Imambara, Rumi Darwaza, Clock Tower, Jama
Masjid, residency. Overnight at hotel.
Day 04
reakfast. Drive to Balrampur. Check-in at hotel for
overnight.
Day 05
Breakfast drive to Lumbini ( birth Place of Lord Buddha)
enroute visit the Buddhist stupas at Sahet Mahet – Sravasti. Check-in at
the hotel. Visit Buddhist sites at Lumbini. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 06
Breakfast. Drive to Patna enroute visit Kushinagar’s Buddhist
sites of Tathagata, Mahaparinirvana temple, reclining Buddha and
Haribala continue to drive Vaishali ( where Buddha preached his last
sermon). Visit Buddhist Stupas of 4th ventury BC, Chaumukhi Mahadev,
Bhawan Pakhan Temple, Museum continue drive to Patna. Check-in at the
hotel for overnight.
Day 07
Breakfast. Drive to Bodhgaya enroute visit Nalanda, one of
the oldest Universities in the world which reached its zenith between
5th and 12th century AD. Visit the Vihara, 26 mt. Height copper statues
of Lord Buddha, Buddhist monasteries and temples. Continue drive to
Rajgir and visit Buddhist and Jain Stupasand Forts, there are a number
of sulphur hot springs. Continue drive to Bodhgaya where Sakhyamuni (
Prince Siddharth) meditated to attain Nirvana sitting under the Bodhi
tree. Check-in to hotel for overnight.
Day 08
Breakfast. Visit various buddhist sites – Chankramana, Maha
Bodhi emple, Thai Temple, Niranjana river, Archeological museum.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 09
Breakfast. Drive to Varanasi. Check-in at the hotel. Evneing
ride a Buggie ( horse carriage) to the ghats for a boat cruise on river
Ganges at Sunset. As it get dark you can watch the aarti ( puja) of the
holy river and at the Vishwanath temple. Return to hotel for overnight.
Day 10
Breakfast. Visit Bharat Mata Temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir,
Benaras Hindu University. Proceed to the Buddhist city of Sarnath where
Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon at the deer park. Visit Dhamek
Stupa, Japanese monastery, Archeological museum. Return to hotel for
overnight.
Day 11
Breakfast. Transfer to airport for flight to Kathmandu (
Nepal). Transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit Durba Square, Temple of
Living Goddess, Hanuman Dhoka. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12
Breakfast. Check-out. Morning excursion to Patan visiting
Durbar Square, Golden Gate and Tibetan refugee Handicraft centre. Return
to Kathamndu and transfer to airport for onward flight.
