In this Tour
• The tour starts with a food walk around Ranade road and Dadar Market that exposes you the local life of the community
• Explore shops selling home-made masalas, spices, vegetables, pulses, fruits delicacies and pickles. Makenote of seasonal specialties sold in the market
• A visit to the fish market allows you to watch Koli fisherwomen at work. Spot the famous Bombay Duck and other popular seafood that is staple for the locals
• Explore the wedding market that sells sarees, jewelry and other items used in wedding rituals
• A taxi ride takes you to a popular café that specializes in Maharashtrian Cuisine
• During lunch you will be introduced to quintessential dishes

WHAT TO WEAR: Wear comfortable shoes for walking and bring along enough sun protection

TOUR NOTES: Please note, the food on the street is delicious but does not meet national or international hygiene standards. Although we only go to very popular places, with good local reputations, these stalls do not cook using bottled water or wash their utensils with it. So eating street food is always risky. If you prefer not to risk it, but still want to see what it’s all about, then at the end of the walk, we can take you to Haldirams where you can try chaats and other popular dishes in safe and hygienic conditions.
