Voted in 2010 as the best place to live in Bangalore, Jayanagar is the essence of the capital of Karnataka. Founded in 1948 as its first planned neighbourhood post-independence, this multi-cultural locality in the southern part of the city has it all.
From residential areas to bustling bazaars with Hindu temples, Jain derasars and Muslim Mosques existing harmoniously side by side and migrants from throughout the length and breadth of India have given Jayanagar a truly pluralistic look, making it a delight for photographers.
In this Tour:
• Walk through the Jayanagar 4th Block area, accompanied by a photo-journalist. While there is a broad route planned, the walk varies based on present photo-opportunities.
• Some picture-perfect locations on this planned route include the flower market, fruit market, vegetable market and puja-items market.
• We will also see religious monuments, food stalls, textile shops, etc.
• Apart from photography, this walk is a great way to understand the people of Bangalore, their many faiths and diverse ways of life.
Duration of the Tour : Approximately two hours (The pace of the tour is slow, to allow ample time for photo opportunities).
