Desert Festival
A unique Cattle Fair held at Nagaur and Jaisalmer A melee of outstanding
colours, with villagers from the neighborhood braving the desert winter
and camping to trade their cattle, a large mélange of horses, camels and
goats, all form a part of the huge congregation. The buying and selling
is brisk as they need to wait the next 12 months for the next fair.
Accommodation at Nagaur will be in tented camps, while at Jaisalmer at
Heritage Palace / Fort hotels. On this tour you come in close contact
with royalty, live in luxurious palaces and forts, journey through the
breadth of royal Rajasthan, soak, into the architectural wonders of
royal culture which goes to centuries old customs and traditions,
prevalent till date.

Day
01
Arrive Delhi. Met by India Calling Representative and transfer to
hotel. Afternoon tour of Old Delhi. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02
Breakfast. Drive to the desert city of Mandawa. Afternoon visit age
old Havelis with their walls painted in Shekhawati style, marble
cenotaphs, mesmerizing sand scape. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03
Breakfast. Drive to Nagaur. Established in 4th Century AD the town
has witnessed many historic battles faught by the valiant Rajputs. The
massive protective walls if the Nagaur Fort encompasses an ancient
complex of richly painted palaces, mosques, temples, gardens, dating
back to the Mughal era. Ceiling and Walls of the Fort adorned by
elaborate paintings. Soak into this medieval atmosphere and witness the
vibrant culture and people. Visit the fair to watch camel races, cock
fights, folk dancing, music, the field one full of encampments of
pastoral communities, tribal people with tattoos on their face and arms.
Day 04
Breakfast. At Nagaur fair.
Day 05
Breakfast. Drive to Bikaner. Afternoon visit Fort with a fine
collection of Armoury, object – de – arts in gold, lacquer work. Visit
Ganga Golden Jubilee Museum. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 06
Visit the cenotaphs at Devi Kund. Thereafter proceed to Asia’s only
Camel Breeding Farm set amidst Sand Dunes, watch the change of colour of
the desert at sun set.
Day 07
Breakfast. Drive to Jaisalmer. Visit the desert fair. Evening visit
sam sand Dunes. Camel ride. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 08
Breakfast. Tour of Fort, Jain Temple, Gadisar Tank, Havelis, Bara
Bagh Cenotaph, Amar Sagar Tank. Visit the Desert fair.
Day 09
Breakfast. Drive to Jodhpur. Visit Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswanthada,
Mandore Gardens and Old city.
Day 10
Breakfast. Drive to Udaipur enroute visit Luni and Ranakpur Temples.
On arrival check-in at the hotel. Evening boat cruise on Pichola Lake.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 11
Breakfast. Tour of city Palace, Museum,Jagdish Temple,
Sahelion-ki-bari, Pratap Smarak, Sajjan Niwas garden. Overnight at the
hotel.
Day 12
Breakfast. Drive to Pushkar ( Ajmer) enroute brief tour of Kumbalgarh
Fort. On arrival check-in at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 13
Breakfast. Drive to Jaipur. Afternoon tour of city visiting Hawa
Mahal, City Palace, Museum. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14
Breakfast. Morning excursion to Amber fort including elephant ride.
Afternoon free for shopping etc. Overnight at hotel.
Day 15
Breakfast. Drive to Bharatpur. On arrival check-in at hotel. Bird
watching at Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 16
Breakfast. Drive to Agra enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri. On arrival
check-in at hotel. Later visit red Fort and Taj Mahal. Overnight at
hotel.
Day 17
Breakfast. Drive back to Delhi. Afternoon tour of New Delhi.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 18
In time transfer to airport for onward flight.
