Home to 3 UNESCO World Heritage Sites including the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort, the city of Agra throngs with tourists all year round. Reminiscent of the glory that was once the Mogul Empire, this city is seeping in history and gorgeous architecture.

Guided tour of Agra, located on the banks of the river Yamuna. Agra is best known the world over as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its 3 grandiose monuments Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri. Visit the sublime white marbled mausoleum of theTajMahalat sunrise and sunset; see the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah; admire the magnificent Agra Fort and the Akbar Mausoleum in Sikandra. Enjoy a decorated tonga ride (a horse drawn carriage, popular in olden days) through the fabled city.

Explore the Amber Fort, the Albert Hall, City Palace, the Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal) and the world's largest stone observatory - the Jantar Mantar. See the Govind Devji Temple dedicated to Lord Krishna, the Lakshmi Narayan and Ganesh Temples; visit the amazing Jaigarh and Nahargarh Forts and Raj Mandir Cinema. Enjoy a ride on a decorated Elephant's till the courtyard of the palace.

The fascinating town of Nimaj is a part of the Pali district in Rajasthan. It has a rich history embroiled with Marwar tradition that makes it a much sought after tourist locale. Years ago, the creator of Jodhpur, Rao Jodha Ji established his grandson as the regent of Nimaj. Descendants of the just rulers are the Thakurs of Nimaj who are fondly known as “Marwar ra Bhad Kiwad", associating them with the impenetratable gates of the citadel of Marwar.

A visit to the rural village guided by the local people to these settlements makes one understand the traditional, rural Rajasthani lifestyle.

 

Jodhpur (2 nights)

Often referred to as the “Sun City”, it is named so because of the bright sunny weather that continues to bless these lands all year round. This enchanting dessert city was founded by the then chief of the Rathore Clan, Rao Jodha way back in 1459. Formerly referred to as Marwar, this is the second largest city in the state and offers charming experiences through the Old and New parts.

Activities

Explore The Meherangarh Fort is one of the most impressive in Rajasthan. Jodhpur's colourful and vibrant market is an atmospheric collection of bustling stalls selling leather goods, spices and silks.

 

Narlai (1 night)

Narlai

Narlai in the state of Rajasthan is a fascinating yet tranquil desert village. It is positioned at the foothills of a knoll that hosts the towering effigy of an elephant. Narlai is a charming tourist locale that is visited by travelers touring Rajasthan when they seek a peaceful retreat. Shrines in the region are mostly places of Hindu and Jain worship of which the Adinath and Shiva temples hold eminence.

Activities

The village itself is interesting to explore. Visit the temple where a miraculous flame is reputed to have burnt for centuries, producing saffron instead of soot. Wishes made here are said to come true.

 

Udaipur (2 nights)

Udaipur is a noted tourist destination in Rajasthan and is considered one of the most beautiful cities in India. The city looks marvelous with Lake Pichola on one side and the Aravalli ranges on the other. Besides, Udaipur is also dotted with beautiful palaces, havelis, and forts that remind us of the wonderful architecture of the past.

Activities

In Udaipur, embark on a tour of this lovely city which will include the City Palace, Jagdish Temple and a boat ride on scenic Lake Pichola. Take a trip to Haldighati in the Aravalli hills (40km); visit the Eklingji Shiva temple near Devigarh; explore the impressive temple ruins at Nagda (22 km).

 

Mumbai (2 nights)

Apart from being known as the nucleus of Bollywood; Mumbai showcases distinctive architectural styles. Old buildings in the city are a merge of Gothic Revival and Indo-Saracenic styles making them an intriguing highlight for tourists.

Explore Mumbai (Bombay).. the most populous Indian city..A veritable cultural potpourri! visit the Gateway of India - a historic landmark; Drive past through High Court, Mumbai University, scenic Marine Drive (Pearl's Necklace), Flora Fountain, Asiatic Libray, Prince of Wales Museum; Pass by Victoria Terminus Railway Station, Municipal Corporation Building; Visit Hanging Gardens, Kamala Nehru Park, Mani Bhavan, Dhobi Ghat, Crawford Market, Partially glimpse the Parsi Tower of Silence from afar while driving past. Explore vibrant Markets and Bazaars.

Visit the Elephanta Caves, a complex of ancient rock-cut cave temples on Elephanta Island, dating back to 600 AD, an hours ferry ride off Mumbai. Deemed a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987, explore this quiet and picturesque island teeming with light-green foliage and scampering monkeys. Stroll the caves; see the enormous Mahesamurti statue depicting Shiva's 3 faces - an enigmatic image of Trimurthi Sadasiva; see a 20 pillared hall, an enshrined Shivalingam and lots more.
