The Wangdue Phodrang Dzong is one of the prominent features of this village. It is located at the very top of a hill allowing a clear view of the routes going east to west, north to south and back. The Dzong is the first thing you’ll notice when you see the village from afar. It is open to all those who want to visit it during Wangdue Phodrang Tsechu in autumn.

Apart from the Dzong, Wangdue Phodrang is also famous for its intricate slate and stone carvings and bamboo crafts. During your time here, make sure you visit the bustling market with its shops filled with traditional Bhutanese favorites.
