(Bhutan)
Trashigang is the country’s largest district that lies on the banks of the Gamri Chhu river. It is the junction of the east-west highway connecting to Samdrup Jongkhar and then to Assam. The town is also used as the market place for the semi nomadic people from Merak and Sakteng. The Trashigang Dzong was built in 1659 and serves as the administrative seat for the district.
