Sasan Gir National Park is also known as the Gir Forest National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary. It is a prominent bio-reserve based in Gujarat that houses the endangered Asiatic lion. The sprawling premises of the park extend over 1,400 square kilometers and house animals including reptiles and various bird species. The park is packed with tourists for most months of the year who travel to view the lion population in addition to the indigenous fauna resident in Gir.
