The Stunningly Beautiful Jahangir Mahal

Orchha is famous for the stunning Jahangir Mahal that constitutes the perfect blend of Rajput-Mughal architecture. Since Jodha is the Rajput queen of Emperor Akbar her heritage is incorporated in parts of the palace. It is constructed on a solid rectangular base with four towers that culminate in graceful domes. A major characteristic of Mughal architecture, the roof sees eight more domes interconnected with slighter domes creating a fabulous façade.
