The Revered Aai Mata Temple

A major landmark in Narlai is the colossal Shri Aai Mata shrine that is located atop a hill. Local legend states that Shri Aai Mata ji resided at the Jekalji Mahadev Temple in the village for a while, as she relayed words of the Almighty to men. It was later that she crafted a cave atop a nearby hillock (that is today a shrine) and lighted an auspicious lamp at the site. The lamp is believed to have an eternal flame that shines bright to this day and exudes Saffron as opposed to soot.

Tourism in Narlai

Rawala in Narlai are beautifully converted heritage homes that overlook a hunting lodge that accepts tourists as guests. The classy 17th century structure was once the rest home of the Maharaja of Jodhpur when he visited the area on hunting trips. Encircled by the forested Aravalli hills, the area is scattered with caves containing murals and shrines. The Jain shrine at Ranakpur is quite a sight to behold and travelers can explore temples that have their ceilings adorned with intricately designed murals.
