This charming city in Assam is home to a number of overwhelming attractions that are true representative of the local culture and way of life. The Uma Nanda Temple was built in the 17th Century and is located on the banks of the river. You will need to get a ferry or a motorboat to get to this temple and arriving on this small island is also a great way to spot some of the endangered Golden Langurs.

Other popular attractions worth visiting here include the ISKCON Temple, the Janardana Temple and the Ugro Tara Temple. If you are travelling with children, you may enjoy a day at the Assam State Museum, the Guwahati Planetarium and the regional Science Centre.
