Pollution Free Exploring Quickly becoming a tourist hub for wildlife exploration, the Chambal Sanctuary offers pollution and noise free habitats. It was set up in 1979 and currently spans over 425 km across the length of the River Chambal.

Visitors are able to explore a plethora of wildlife in this region include crocodilian species such as the Gavialis Gangeticus (Gharial) which has its largest population in the world, right here in this sanctuary. The highlight of a trip to this reserve is the chance of spotting the Gangetic Dolphins, considered to be India’s national Aquatic Animal.

In addition to this, this reserve is the only known nesting place for Indian Skimmers who have been spotted in large numbers during specific times of the years. Furthermore, get a chance to mingle with the 8 rare turtle species out of the 26 that are known to be living in India.
