of handicrafts, handloom textiles, shimmering silks and brocade, metal
ware, wood and ivory carving, jewels and jewellery, rugs, carpets,
paintings, leather work, lace and embroidery, spices, tea, marble ware,
cane and jute products, ceramics and porcelain.
The vibrant bazaars make shopping a special exploration in India where
the dexterity of centuries old skills mingles with the vitality and
innovation of new ideas and designs. Like many other aspects of India,
its shopping experience is full of contrasts .Chaotic and irresistible
medieval shops in narrow cobbled lanes with churning mass of cyclists,
buses with deafening honking, rub shoulders with fast paced limousines,
sprawling modern shopping malls and boutiques selling international
designer labels. Carry home a slice of India’s multi-faceted culture
that thrives on its pulsating streets and malls. The roadside kitsch of
grotesque wooden masks, brilliant brass and copper wares, ropes of
bewildering beads and bells, exhilarating array of enamel work, the
potpourri of shopping choice is endless. This explosion of colour and
