Sasan Gir is home to the world renowned Asiatic Lions. An encounter with this majestic animal in the wilds is a life time experience. Thanks to the Nawab of Junagadh, approximately 200 Asiatic Lions still survive in the 300sq km. of Gir National Park. Gir also has a large population of leopards that are more easily seen here than elsewhere. Also to be seen are Sambar, Chital Chinkara, Barasingha, Nilgai and Wild Boar.
