A Royal Affair

A tour packed to the brim with history and the core of India’s cultural heritage. Big cities, yet offering the United Nation’s declared World Heritage Sites, luxurious Palace hotels with their old world charm. Exotic Bazzars of Delhi, Jaipur. Vast stretches of sand dunes of the Thar Deserts. You will experience the charm of India in a nutshell.

Day 01
Arrive Delhi. Met by India Calling Representative and transfer to hotel.

Day 02
Breakfast. Morning tour of New Delhi visiting India Gate, drive past Parliament House and President’s Palace, proceed to Lotus Temple, thereafter visit the World Heritage sites of Humayun’s Tomb and Qutab Minar.
Afternoon tour of Old Delhi visiting Raj Ghat ( cenotaph of Mahatma Gandhi), Red Fort, proceed to Chandini Chowk, visit Jama Masjid. Return to hotel via a visit to Laxmi Narayan Bilr Temple.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 03
Breakfast. Drive to Agra with a leg stretcher at Dabchik or Kosi Resorts enroute. On arrival at Agra hotel and traditional India Welcome. A visit to Agra the World Heritage sites of Agra Fort and Taj Mahal. Evening ride a horse drawn buggy followed by a pool side dinner with magic shows.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 04
Breakfast. Drive to the Pink City of Jaipur enroute visit the World Heritage site of Fatehpur Sikri, Emperor Akbar’s deserted Ghost city. Check-in to the luxury of a grand Heritage Palace hotel inJaipur. Traditional welcome with garlands, tikka and aarti. Evening a royal dinner with a Rajsthani folk dance and music. With time permitting we may be able to organise a audience with His Royal Highness Col Bhawani Singh, Maharaja of Jaipur or Her Royal Highness, The Dowager Raj Mata Maharani Gayatri Devi.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 05
Breakfast. Morning Excursion to Amber Fort with an elephant joy ride ascending to the Fort. Afternoon city tour visiting Hawa Mahal, Observatory, city palace and museum. Visit gem stone shops at Johari Bazzar, handicraft shops at I Road and Ajmeri Gate.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 06
Breakfast. Drive to Samode stay in the luxury of a Heritage Palace. The Village entrance caparisoned camel carts await your arrival. The camel caravan accompanied by musician take you the grand Palace. As you climb the stately staircase to the Palace, village belles in full Rajasthani attire Welcome you with garlands, tikka and aarti, sprinkling mellow rose water and showering rose petals. At leisure to enjoy the Royal ambience of the Palace.

Evening Royal dinner in silver thalis ( plates) at the Sheesh Mahal Durbar Hall. The ambience created goes back to 600 years of Rajputana’s Royal traditions. The guest are seated on the floor on velvet embroidered cushion and folk dances and musicians arranged on the palaces terrace. Male guests will learn the technique and art of tying the turban. Overnight at the palace.

Day 07
Breakfast. Drive to Mandawa st at a Heritage Castle hotel. With the traditional welcome. Late afternoon visit the age of havelis (country mansions) in typical Shekhawati style of architecture. Evening a gala bar-be0cue dinner with camp fire, musicians and jugglers arranged on the Thar Desert under the brightly lit star studded sky.

Day 08
Breakfast. Optional (extra cost) Hot Air balloon ride for a overview the vast stretches of the Thar Desert landsacpe and the sand dunes.
Thereafter drive to Delhi to connect flight for onward journey.
